Italian is considered the romance language so it would be fitting that Elizabeth & David’s story would begin in Italian class.

Even though they shared a class Elizabeth admits, “I did not even know his name.” She nicknamed him “Macaroni Boy” after making homemade pasta for a class presentation. Their real love story began after both separately studied abroad in Florence a few years later. The two remained an item through the rest of their studies at NYU even going on to attend St. John’s Law School together.

Elizabeth recalls, “I knew he was the one when he joined me along with 35 family members in celebrating Christmas Eve dinner. Not only was it special to have him meet the extended family but it was also the first time we exchanged “I love you’s”.”

After celebrating their 5-year anniversary at River Café in Brooklyn the couple went for a stroll. It was there, under the Brooklyn Bridge that David asked her to be his.

Elizabeth & David were married April 27th 2013 @ St. Agnes Church in Rockville Centre NY. Elizabeth cascaded down the aisle in an Edgardo Bonilla gown from Kleinfeld’s with a pair of blue Jimmy Choos. The festivities continued at the New York Botanical Gardens with flowers by Xquisite Flowers and music by Generation Events. The couple had two special details created by family members. Hand carved cutting boards made by Elizabeth’s cousins, (The Cutting Board Project) was given to each guest while David’s father’s homemade wine graced each table! What lovely treats!

We would like to think that it’s a piece of wedding cake to get ourselves dolled up for the big event but let’s keep it real ladies…it takes work!

To help you make the most of your pre wedding moments we have compiled a list of our top 10 tips to help your big day preparation go off without a hitch!

1) Time Management – Leave plenty of time to get ready. More often than not this is what allows you as the bride and us as the photographers able to make the most of our time. In turn, we will together, create those fashion, editorial styled beautiful images.

2) Hair & Makeup – We strongly recommend locking in the right team! Make sure you have worked with your team before the big day. We also suggest you having them arrive earlier than you would initially think as they will always run a few minutes if not more over the “scheduled time”

3) Detail Shots — Have your invitation handy along with your gown, jewelry & shoes…. We like to capture them alone and then of course on our beautiful bride

4) Bridal Party – Same rules apply for your bridal party. Make sure to give them an earlier arrival time, as there is always one or more who are running late. Make sure they are dressed and ready to go so they can help you with your dress and anything else you may need.

5) Photography & Videography – Have your photo/video team to come at the tail end of you getting ready. Make sure the time is secured prior to your wedding day!

6) The Setting – Having a stellar environment is key to making use of the space we have to work in. Keep the room neat & tidy minimizing clutter.

7) Personal Touch – Add an element that reflects you such as beautiful accessories, shoes or cool sneaks for him!

Get Inspired – I know we are the professionals but we encourage you to thumb through some fashion magazines for ideas and motivation! Go ahead channel your inner model…… we dare you.

9) Relax – No matter how stressful the day is if the above is not being met you have to remain calm, as it will show in your photos. Keep in YOUR GETTING MARRIED TODAY!!

10) Have Fun – This is after all a celebration isn’t it? You are marrying the love of your life so have a blast with your family & friends and all will be revealed through your images!

We would like to dedicate this blog to the one necessity that is welcome to take up space in our NYC closets, the cherry on top of all perfectly put together ensembles… And coming in close second to the dress, the absolutely essential pièce de résistance, THE SHOES!!!

As our fashionistas have proven over and over again, nothing completes the perfect look more than rocking a fabulous pair.

So without further ado… We present The Shoes…

After a year of unsuccessful encounters Lauren was about to throw in the towel and delete her Match.com account. And as every great love story would have it…fate (Jason) stepped in by messaging her.

After a few emails Jason asked her on a date. Even though she was intrigued by his beautiful blue eyes she was reluctant as she had had many disastrous dates and didn’t want to have yet another disappointment. Luckily Jason reached out again and she said yes. Before their first date they corresponded back & forth getting to know each other better. They tried to plan a date but Lauren was traveling to Florida. Jason happened to be going as well and the two were contemplating meeting up down there. After a chat with her mother who felt that should not be the place to meet someone for the first time, she decided to wait until they both returned to New York.

Their first official date was in Janaury of 2010 at an amazing restaurant. Their table wasn’t ready so they sat at the bar and shared an incredible conversation over a bottle of wine. Jason seized the moment and kissed her right then and there. While at dinner they learned they had so many things in common. Both of their parents own homes in Florida just 10 minutes from each other, both of their father’s are contractors, and they also share an Italian heritage! As the date came to an end Lauren tells us, “It was the sweetest night ever! I fell in love right then and there.”

The couple slowly began to share all of their secrets, met each other’s parents, and their feelings continued to deepen!

The intimate proposal came a few years later at their home! Sweet and sincere!

Lauren & Jason were married on March 23, 2013 at the beautiful Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, FL. Sounds from The Powerhouse Band filled the air as the couple danced the night away! The celebration continued on their Honeymoon to Turks & Caicos!

After slowly looking through all of the photos, we quickly realized how hard it was going to be to narrow down the choices because we loved so many of them. Between the photos from our first look, our shots in Grand Central Station and pictures of our bridal party on the streets of NYC, not to mention our beautiful family portraits in front of our Chuppah and our actual ceremony, there were simply too many amazing photos in our “must have” pile!

Anthony’s office suggested that I bring the batch of photos to our album meeting and that they would help me condense the options. With approximately 150 photos in tow, my mother and I arrived to Anthony’s office. Kelley’s jaw dropped – we had chosen more than double the average amount of photos in an album! She assured me that this kind of thing happens often and that she would help us decide which photos were most significant to us.

It took us about four hours to remove 25 photos from our original 150. We came to the realization that we would prefer a larger album to discarding so many of our favorite shots. They were just too accurate in capturing the love we have for each other and the fun we had that day!

Ron and I have been on the edge waiting to receive our album. In the meantime, however, we have been fortunate enough to share some of our favorite shots!

My mood quickly shifted from pissed to ecstatic when I came home to find my boyfriend-turned-fiancé popping the question in a room filled with roses and photos from our life together. Naturally, I said yes.

After a weekend of celebration filled with family and friends, I awoke to the realities that I was now “The Bride.” I’ve been through the wedding circuit before and I knew the routine—drag Fiancé through Bloomingdales Home, consult Pinterest and unfreeze my gym membership. But then there’s the wedding…

Early in the game, we discussed that we wanted to do something unconventional–something that pushed the boundaries of a traditional wedding and felt more like “us.” We asked ourselves, in a fantasy world that lacks the constraints of budget and other people’s opinions, what was most important to us for our special day?

We wanted a loft space that had history and character with a hip and casual vibe; a dance floor big enough to handle our moves; food and drink that is special, but rustic and fun; and a crowd filled with our closest family and friends to share in our joy with us.

When we came upon Liberty Warehouse, we knew immediately that this was it. The Warehouse gave us the perfect canvas to create something whimsical, but sophisticated and modern, but vintage…plus gorgeous waterfront views of the Statue of Liberty and Downtown Manhattan, where we live.

After selecting our venue, the next choice was easy. We hired Anthony Vazquez as our photographer because of his modern approach to weddings and his talent for capturing urban settings in an editorial style. I worked with him a few years ago at my best friend’s wedding and the photos still wow me. Not to mention, as my man puts it, “Anthony is a good dude.” We are so excited for Anthony to shoot our wedding and to share our wedding story on his blog!

Melanie & Eric’s first date took place in early 2009 at Buddahkan. They were intrigued that they had never met before but were really taken by the instant connection that occurred. Eric was attending law school at Emory in Atlanta and Melanie resided in NYC so the couple spent the next 2 years long distance. Eric says, “Though not always easy being apart, our time spent together was special allowing us to really get to know each other.”

Eric finally joined Melanie in NY in mid 2011. Eric settled into his life with Melanie whom was and still is working for the marketing department of Bobby Brown Cosmetics. It wasn’t uncommon for the couple to frequent the Midtown Bloomingdale’s stopping by the Bobby Brown counter to see the latest displays and chat with employees. One Sunday afternoon on one of their trips to the Bobby Brown counter, the video display behind the counter flashed an image of Melanie & Eric with the text underneath reading “Will You Marry Me, Melanie?” in lipstick writing. Eric hired a photographer to capture the moment she said yes and after a quick touch up from the BB counter they took a few more pictures outside and then headed to the Ace Hotel. Family & friends greeted them celebrate the new engagement followed by a party at Eric’s parents house.

Melanie & Eric were scheduled to be married Novemeber 11th, 2012 at the Woodmere Club. With 5 days to spare the Club informed them due to Sandy’s aftermath they would still be without power. They quickly made arrangements at Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst catered by Prestige. Melanie stunningly wore an Ines DeSanto dress with Jimmy Choo shoes while Eric rocked a custom Rothman’s Tuxedo. Rabbi Daniel Goldstein and Rabbi Joseph Potasnik co-officiated the ceremony. Sounds from Michael Hart of Hank Lane filled the air as we captured the night along with our great friends Moho Creative!

One year later the couple’s lives would change forever. Stephanie & Dennis were celebrating Memorial Day out in East Hampton and at sunrise Dennis asked her to be his. They were lucky enough to find someone to take their engagement photo followed by an impromptu photo shoot of the moment!

Stephanie & Dennis were married on October 12, 2012 at The Church of Our Lady of Peace. Stephanie floated down the aisle in an Anne Barge dress with a bolero by Carolina Herrera. Dennis wore a custom made tuxedo. Chestnuts in the Tuileries Floral Design transformed the reception room at Essex House to reflect their vision. It was a magical day!
